French Copper Black Maran
We
have unrelated cockerels (4 Copper Black and 1 Splash) running with
25 Copper Black hens.
You will get a mixture of chicks from these eggs ranging from Copper
Black, Copper Blue and some Splash
The hens may lay up to 200
eggs a year. Hens are quite individual in their egg
colours, some are lighter than others and vary throughout the year.
Our breeding
birds are a mixture of pullets and older hens, the older hens egg
colouring is not as dark this year probably due to the amount of eggs
they have laid. Any pullets from these hens will lay a dark brown egg as
the egg colour comes from the cockerels genes which is a dark egg
strain. |

will be a mix of colours from Blue, Black and Splash but will obviously all be pure Maran, we have
found that a high percentage are hatching blue.
The hens are large in size approx 8-9lb in weight
